WAL-MART FOUNDATION GIFTS HELP WITH SIGNIFICANT DONATION



BOISE, Idaho – Help, Inc. of Idaho Falls announced today a $20,000 contribution from the Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club Foundation to assist with forensic and medical assistance to children who are the victims of sexual abuse.

“Our partnership with Help, Inc. represents the Wal-Mart Foundation’s commitment to support the communities of which Wal-Mart is a part,” says Karianne Fallow, a senior manager with Wal-Mart. “Wal-Mart is proud to be a community partner by enhancing children’s lives and the quality of family life.”

“Help, Inc.’s Snake River Children’s Advocacy Center provides a single location to provide forensic, advocacy, and counseling services for children who have experienced sexual abuse.” says Curtis Peterson, Executive Director of Help, Inc., “The partnership with Wal-Mart will help our community keep one of the vital components of the Advocacy Center running which is the medical program. This program provides medical forensic exams which not only help in the investigative process but also helps a child know that their body will be okay, or in some cases the exam will be the first indicator of other problems such as pregnancy and/or STD caused by the abuse.”

Help, Inc. was founded in 1983 as en Exchange Club Child Abuse Prevention Center. Throughout Help, Inc. history it has provided the community with vital services to help curb the rates of child abuse in our community. In 2005 Help, Inc. opened the Snake river Children’s Advocacy Center which provides a single location for helping professions, Law enforcement, and prosecution to come together to help children who have allegedly been sexually abused.
