BOISE, Idaho – Idaho-based public relations leader Scott Peyron & Associates has been selected as the communication partner of Roady’s Humanitarian Bowl, the nationally recognized bowl game that for more than a decade has matched up outstanding college football teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), Conference USA and the Western Athletic Conference (WAC).
A crowd of more than 27,000 people is expected to witness the game at Bronco Stadium on Dec. 30. Even more significantly for Idaho’s travel and tourism economy, Roady’s Humanitarian Bowl will be aired on ESPN’s flagship network for the third time in the last four years.
Roady’s Humanitarian Bowl is the most recent expansion of Scott Peyron & Associates’ travel and tourism practice. Among the others:
· An assignment from the Western Athletic Conference to carry out an extensive national media relations effort calling attention to the WAC’s breakthrough, multi-year television contract with ESPN.
· An assignment from Roady’s Truck Stops to market broadcast assets that are owned by the title sponsor of the bowl game and provide global in-game advertising opportunities for participating companies on television sports flagship ESPN.
“We have come out of nowhere and have established ourselves as a successful bowl with creativity, hard work and outstanding community commitment,” said Kevin McDonald, executive director of the bowl game. “The Peyron team will help us communicate our value and our aspirations to become an even stronger community partner and national force in college football.”
Scott Peyron & Associates will work in support of the bowl game as its Board of Directors and Bowl Council attract expanded investment and negotiate new conference affiliations that could mean the appearance of programs that are even more significant than many that have competed in the game – teams such as Boston College, Miami, Louisville, Georgia Tech, Fresno State, Clemson and Boise State.
The award winning PR firm will engage in a national media campaign to further raise the profile of Roady’s Humanitarian Bowl and to help carry out a regional effort to attract new fans and increase corporate sponsorship.
The Roady’s Humanitarian Bowl is the only bowl game in the United States that has humanity in its brand. The brand recognizes the positive impact teams, coaches and student-athletes have in their communities and their leadership roles in promoting humanitarian efforts.
The 12th Annual Roady’s Humanitarian Bowl, sponsored by Roady’s Truck Stops, will be held at Bronco Stadium in Boise, ID on December 30, 2008, at 2:30PM Mountain Standard Time.
Idaho-based Roady's Truck Stops is the nation's largest chain of truck stops, catering to the professional driver and traveling motorist in 45 states with 350+ retail locations.
