PEYRON ATTRACTS HEWLETT-PACKARD PUBLIC AFFAIRS MANAGER, GROWS HIGH TECH, COMMUNITY AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS PRACTICES AT IDAHO'S LARGEST PR FIRM

BOISE, Idaho – Scott Peyron & Associates, Inc., (www.peyron.com) Idaho’s largest public relations firm, today announced its high technology, community and public affairs practices have been strengthened by the appointment of former Hewlett-Packard corporate affairs executive Deanna Ward to lead key practice groups of the agency.

“Northwest business leaders know Deanna Ward from her work on Hewlett-Packard’s Public Affairs team, and we are excited to have her exceptional leadership of key practice groups of the agency,” founder Scott Peyron said. “Deanna’s work on HP’s global community relations effort is outstanding preparation for leading client initiatives at Peyron.”

Deanna Ward is a graduate of California State University, Chico, where she majored in public relations. She has also earned a Certificate in Corporate Community Involvement Management from the Carroll Graduate School of Management at Boston College. She deepened her experience across the many disciplines of marketing communications as advertising manager of high tech manufacturer Maxtor Corporation and as marketing program manager at Blackburn Designs / Bell Sports in Silicon Valley before joining HP and moving to Idaho in 1993. At HP, Deanna Ward served as Northwest Public Affairs manager and as Community Programs manager on a global corporate philanthropy team.

Ward serves on the United Way of Treasure Valley Board of Directors and has been active with the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce; Idaho Corporate Contribution Managers; Idaho Math, Science and Technology Coalition; Southern Idaho Science Collaborative; Idaho Association of Commerce and Industry; Association of Corporate Contribution Professionals; and Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship.

“Peyron’s deepening business interests with high technology clients and its important work on big regional public policy issues such as air quality, water and economic development are vastly strengthened by Deanna joining our team,” Peyron said.

Peyron was founded in 1996 following Scott Peyron's public service as press secretary for Idaho's only four-term governor, Cecil Andrus. The agency has worked on reputation assignments with leading clients such as Albertsons (www.albertsons.com); SUPERVALU (www.supervalu.com); Washington Group International (www.wgint.com); Tamarack Resort (www.tamarackidaho.com); the Boise Valley Economic Partnership (www.bvep.org); SunCor Development (www.suncoraz.com); U.S. Geothermal (www.usgeothermal.com); the Idaho Hospital Association (www.teamiha.com); Wal-Mart Stores (www.walmart.com); and several of the world's leading high tech companies, including Hewlett-Packard (www.hp.com).
