HEWLETT-PACKARD BRAND AND COMMUNICATION STRATEGIST JOINS PEYRON

BOISE, Idaho – Strategic communication leadership, which has long distinguished Idaho-based PR and marketing communication firm Scott Peyron & Associates, Inc. (www.peyron.com), today was strengthened with the appointment of former Hewlett-Packard brand and communication strategist Doug Cole to the Peyron team.

“Hewlett-Packard is recognized as a leader in brand excellence, and Doug Cole has been a critical contributor to that company’s global reputation for quality,” founder Scott Peyron said. “Doug brings a tapestry of experience in global strategic communication that will be of great value to our clients in corporate communications, real estate development and other practice areas.”

Doug Cole served in strategic marketing communication leadership positions for the Hewlett-Packard Company for nearly 14 years. Cole worked as the Public Relations Manager for both the HP LaserJet Supplies Operation and the Disk Memory Division before serving as Director of Partnerships, Sponsorships and Events for HP’s Brand and Corporate Marketing.

Under his tenure, HP launched its branded entertainment program with high-profile relationships including DreamWorks Animation, the Sundance Film Festival, MTV, and Gwen Stefani. At a regional level, Cole provided marketing support to the 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Idaho, HP Distinguished Leadership in Human Rights Award, the HP Women’s Challenge Cycling Race and Boise State Football.

Cole served most recently as the Director of Worldwide Advertising Operations for HP’s newly acquired EDS business unit where he oversaw digital marketing and social networking programs. Previous to HP, Cole worked in cause marketing for the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society.

Cole received a BA in Government from St. Lawrence University in upstate New York and lives in Boise with his wife and two sons. He is an active volunteer in local non-profit organizations including the Make-A-Wish Foundation, The St. Luke’s Foundation and the Idaho Film Commission.

Peyron was founded in 1996 following Scott Peyron's career in Fortune 500 PR and his public service as press secretary for Idaho's only four-term governor, Cecil Andrus. The agency has worked on reputation assignments with leading clients such as Albertsons (www.albertsons.com); SUPERVALU (www.supervalu.com); Washington Group International (www.wgint.com); Tamarack Resort (www.tamarackidaho.com); the Boise Valley Economic Partnership (www.bvep.org); SunCor Development (www.suncoraz.com); U.S. Geothermal (www.usgeothermal.com); the Idaho Hospital Association (www.teamiha.com); Wal-Mart Stores (www.walmart.com); and several of the world's leading high tech companies, including Hewlett-Packard (www.hp.com).
