BOISE, Idaho – The Roady’s Humanitarian Bowl will hold its first annual invitation-only Bowl Fest 2008 fundraising event this Saturday, October 11 at the Stueckle Sky Club at Boise State University. A portion of the proceeds raised will go toward providing disadvantaged children from Big Brothers Big Sisters, YMCA, and the Boys and Girls Club with guaranteed tickets to attend the 2008 Humanitarian Bowl – even in the event of a sell-out for the game. The fundraiser is the first major event to fulfill the Roady’s Humanitarian Bowl’s ultimate goal to establish community programs in the Treasure Valley.
“Just as the Fiesta Bowl became a community treasure and turned into a major community force in Arizona, we want to grow the impact of the Roady’s Humanitarian Bowl as a force for good in Idaho,” said Roady’s Humanitarian Bowl Executive Director Kevin McDonald. “We value our relationship with Big Brothers Big Sisters, the World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame and other outstanding community organizations and we want to deepen our involvement.”
