COEUR d’ALENE, Idaho – Leading experts in real estate and economic development will identify local and regional issues and opportunities during Urban Land Institute’s “2009 Emerging Trends in Real Estate” conference Nov. 17 at the Salvation Army Kroc Center in Coeur d’Alene.
Widely noted experts will offer their business insights during the morning panel. The keynote speaker is Dean Schwanke, senior vice-president of Urban Land Institute, based in Washington, D.C., who will highlight the yet-to-be-released findings of the 2010 Emerging Trends in Real Estate forecast publication that will be unveiled at ULI’s national meeting in San Francisco next month.

• Don Dietrich, director of the Idaho Department of Commerce, who will discuss macro trends affecting our local economies that include the employment picture and job creation
• Jim Hunter, president of Boise Hunter Homes, a Treasure Valley residential home builder who will share his perspective on the residential real estate market, including future opportunities and risk factors.
• Robert Phillips, president of the Hawkins Companies, a commercial development firm operating in the Intermountain West, on trends that will affect retail and other income-producing properties
• Jerry Dunn, president and CEO of A-10 Capital, a finance company servicing the commercial real estate sector, who will address access to and cost of financing in 2010 and the presence of distressed real estate and how that might affect commercial development prospects in 2010 and beyond
• Rob Perez, moderator, president and CEO of Western Capital Bank and a member of Urban Land Institute’s region-wide leadership group, the Idaho-Montana District Council
